Good news! Automobili Lamborghini has signed a contract with BMW to build their sports car, the M1. However, the bright days ended suddenly. The economical failure of the Cheetah project left Automobili Lamborghini unable to fulfil the contract and so the contract was cancelled. In August 1978, the factory went into receivership.
